As part of my OpenClassrooms training, I worked on a simulated Power BI project called "Crédit Breton." This project involved analyzing financial data from a fictional banking institution to provide valuable insights into financial performance and customer management.
The project's context was to offer recommendations to improve Crédit Breton's profitability and operational efficiency through detailed data analysis.
Task
My role in this project was as a Data Analyst, responsible for developing an interactive Power BI dashboard to facilitate the analysis of financial data.
I was tasked with processing the data, creating clear visualizations, and providing actionable recommendations based on the insights gathered.
Action
I started by importing and cleaning the data in Power BI using Power Query, ensuring data consistency and quality. Then, I designed key visualizations such as spending trends, loan distribution, and customer segmentation.
The tools I used included Power BI for data analysis, DAX for advanced calculations, and SQL for some initial queries. Here is a link to the dashboard I developed: [insert link].
Result
Through this work, I was able to deliver accurate visualizations that revealed hidden trends in the data, such as customers at high risk of default and the most profitable banking products.
I also created a detailed report with several recommendations for improving sales performance, including quantifiable outcomes like a potential 15% reduction in customer risk through more targeted segmentation.
This project demonstrated how Power BI can speed up decision-making processes in a financial organization.
I learned how to better leverage advanced DAX functions and create complex visualizations while maintaining the clarity and impact of the insights.
If I had more time, I would have explored more advanced methods for predicting customer behavior using machine learning models integrated into Power BI.
My advice to someone doing a similar project would be to clearly define the objectives of each visualization in advance so that the final dashboard brings real value to the organization.
